Jaxa: the forgotten polish state that fought the chinese

  source: Wikimedia.common Jaxa, also known as the Polish Autonomous District in Manchuria, was a short-lived state that existed from 1920 to 1922. It was created as a result of the Russian Civil War, which caused a power vacuum in Manchuria, leading to the emergence of numerous independent states. Jaxa was one of them. Jaxa was established by a group of Polish officers who, after the end of World War I, found themselves in Siberia. They had fought alongside the White Army against the Bolsheviks, and were now stranded in a foreign land with no means of returning home. The officers decided to establish a Polish state in Manchuria, where they hoped to find support from the local population. The name "Jaxa" was derived from the first letters of the surnames of the founders of the state: Januszajtis, Abramowicz, Czaplicki, and Adamowicz.
